serenading the sky
only the rain sprinkles

the water they have divulged
the mud threads left to dream

the leaves
undisturb words
just holding them
tossing on their open palms

the sun awakes
comes into a cave
where unuttered
forms of a quietness
interlock
where the petals touch

it’s that thickness
we touch
envying for that openness
that makes our knees shake
