the darkness
has not stopped me from seeing

the trees have stretched
and under their arms the wind is slipping
drunk
with their dampness

their breaths have gathered        mist
and the jasmine outside my window
swells
their whiteness prominent
about to burst
with the musk of stars

the clouds have interlocked
parts
to catch a breath

I am unstaring
with the thickness
of the       dark
